Kitty and Dianne,
I could not get to Ruth's funeral today. Helen had an appointment with her oncologist, and I had to stay with our brother who is bedridden and needs care around the clock. I remember your mother so well doing Mrs. Smith's hair and my mother's hair, and, of course, we heard about her from her brother, Frank, when he and our brother were roommates at the nursing home. I know you will miss her forever but what a long-lived joy she has been in your lives. We are thinking of you and wishing for you warm memories of your mom in the days ahead that will replace the grief you feel today.
