Sherry Maner (First Grandchild)
She was my "Nannie" for 56 years of my life. I loved to hear her stories of her past. She also loved to repeat the stories of what we did as kids, including her great grandchildren. She ALWAYS thought of others first and hated to think if she was a burden. Her last Saturday in the hospital, she fretted if our weekend was ruined by spending the day with her. I always loved spending time with her and this will be very hard since she is no longer with us. She helped me through many hard times in my life. I always was reminded by her of how much she loved me. Since she was 97 years old, she experienced a lot of loss with family members and friends that have died. I asked her how did she deal with this so bravely. She answered and said, "If you don't know how to handle changes in your life then you won't do well." Well, I will have to take my Nannie's advice...I will move forward Nannie and I will shed tears but I will adjust but never forget that you were my Nannie and my love for you will always be in my heart! I know where you are and I know we will be together one day! Thank you for your unconditional love and I will strive to be the Nannie you were to me as I extend my love as Mimi to my grandchildren!
