Ron Nelson was a champion of men, capable and kind, always ready to help anyone, at any time. In the 70s and 80s, he was the Head of Tranportation at the Sheraton Airport Hotel, Atlanta. He often worked 7 or more shifts each week, as the main and most reliable and loyal employee there. He could, and often would handle any situation in the Hotel, and was the "Best Big Brother" to all of the other employees there, from HouseKeepers, Bartenders, Bar Staff, Waiters, Waitresses, Food Staff, Lobby and Pool Bar Staff, Musicians, DJ's, and Front Desk,,and Kitchen Hotel Staff. We were a happy group who enjoyed working together, and having Ron on duty every shift meant we could handle anything. The hours were long in the busy and very popular location, and Ron was the "GLUE" that kept the Transport Vehicles and Guests' needs running at 100%, day and night. DAPHNE's Lounge, with popular Live Entertainment, was filled with guests who flew in from other cities every weekend. Ron was the first person they met at the Airport, and he took care of their every need. He was tall, calm and soft-spoken, and knew how to provide for any guests' needs, how to provide their individual comforts for families. He never ran out of energy, always had a ready smile, and helped many of us on our off days to survive those years of juggling families, long work shifts, and life's mishaps and demands. He was everyione's Best Friend. When the Hotel Sold/Closed suddenly, we all had to scatter to separate locations and jobs, losing friend connections that would have lasted a lifetime. Ron was the last to leave. I have never had a group of friends and especially a single GREAT FRIEND AS WONDERFUL AND CARING AS RON NELSON, since those days. I willl always look back on those years as my happiest ones, and will never ever forget how amazing, capable, and wonderful Ron was to me, his daughter, my daughter, and to everyone. I am heartbroken that he has passed away. I am right behind him in age and failing health, and if at all possible, I hope to see Ron again in Heaven, I am Grateful for his unfailing friendship and caring ways. I know he will be there to enjoy the Rewards of Heaven, as he lived a life of high quality, as man of great integrity and honor. I wish Ron's Family my deepest condolences for their loss. He was truly "One in 100 Million" most wonderful men, a true Blessing. Gayle Stephenson
