Roger Alfred Ruckert's Obituary
Roger Alfred Ruckert, age 74, of Powder Springs passed away August 28, 2020. Roger was a 28-year retired veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of many veterans’ organizations such as the Association of U.S. Army Veterans, American Legion, and the Army Musicians Association. In his spare time, he was an avid collector of things that interested him, like coins and music from the 50’s and 60’s. He also loved to bowl and played softball until the 1990’s. Roger was a Braves fan enjoyed going to home games as well as attending concerts. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose memory will be cherished by his family and friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Ruckert; daughter, Teri Ruckert; and brother, Raymond Ruckert, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gretchen Ruckert; daughter, Pam Ruckert of Woodstock; grandchildren, Heather and Caitlin; and great-grandchildren, Liam and Cooper.
Interment of his urn will occur on Monday, September 7th, 1:00 PM at Georgia National Cemetery.
