Robert Thomas "R.T." Godfrey's Obituary
Godfrey, Mr. Robert "R.T" Godfrey, age 74 of Austell died Tuesday, August 11, 2009. Mr. Godfrey was a Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War and reserves for 26 years. He retired in 1994 from CSX Railroad. He served on the City of Austell Council for 13 years, also served as President, Vice President, Secretary Treasurer of the Atlanta Area Callers Association. He Volunteered at the Windy Hill Senior Center for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sara Daniell Godfrey, Children, Anthony Godfrey of Temple, Susan Godfrey of Villa Rica, Janet & Norman Taylor of Austell, Sister, Myra Kimmerling of Acworth, Brothers, Frank Godfrey of Gadsden, AL, Billy Godfrey of Villa Rica & George Godfrey of Panama City, FL, 4 Grandchildren,Micah,Kyle,Bianca & Colt, 1 Greatgranddaughter,Kassi, 2 granddogs, Tomado & Allie. His adopted children, Sheila & John Hilderbrand and granddaughter, Savannah.
Funeral Services will be held Friday 11:00 am Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Burial will follow at Daniell Family Cemetery in Smyrna. The family will recieve friends Thursday 4-8:30 pm at the funeral home.
