I am very surprised that Mr. Godfrey passed away few days ago. I am an international student from Japan, and have joined his western/square dinner and party when I had troubles to get used with American culture. It is one of my very precious memories about kind and generous people in Atlanta. It is very sad to know I can't see him anymore, but I believe and expect I will see him in Heaven. I hope God is with his family members who must be in grief now.

Steve and I are very sorry to hear about R.T.'s passing. He will be missed! We so enjoyed our time together at the western/square dances with our Japanese students with R.T. It was the highlight of our year and our children so enjoyed it. We appreciate your thoughtfulness in sharing your time with us. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you and your family.##imported-begin##Steve and Marcia Allen##imported-end##
To the Godfrey family: We are so sorry for your loss. We got to know R.T. through the Japanese Home Stay program and the square dances he called for the students. He was a kind, generous man to share his gift with us all, and to show the Japanese students a part of our culture they might never know existed.
We moved to NC 5 years ago and haven't been a part of that ministry since then. Even though it's been awhile since we've see R.T., we'll always remember his bright smile and great attitude. He touched our lives in a wonderful way and he will be missed. God bless you all in the time of sadness.
Sincerely,
Dow and Teresa Hurst

We first met R.T. about five or six years ago when we moved from Dallas to Douglasville. We began searching for a square dance club and found R.T.'s Barn Dancers. We visited and immediately knew this was the caller and club for us. We loved R.T. and "the barn". He will be surely missed. Our prayers are with the family.##imported-begin##Robert and Swannie Carter##imported-end##

When the silver cord is fraying and the voice must soon be still'loving ties are tensed to breaking' bowing to the father's will. When curtained doors have opened, for life's beginning, not it's end and we grope in tearful silence, it is then we need a friend. Our deepest condolences to the Godfrey family during these difficult times that we all must face at one point in our lives, may peace be with all of you.
We have nothing but fond memories of RT Godfrey.
From the beginning of my railroad career when I met RT, I can honestly say he was an extremely good friend; he took me under his wing and helped me all he could. I will cherish that forever.
Rest in peace
