Robert "Bob" Cothran's Obituary
Mr. Robert F. Cothran, age 75 of Mableton, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009. Robert was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He worked for Northfolk Southern Railroad from 1959 until his retirement in July 1995. He was a 1958 graduate of Western Carolina, enjoyed politics, gardening, golf and his church. Robert was an avid Tarheel fan.
Mr. Cothran was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Billy Cothran, and his beloved wife, Catherine. He is survived by his children, Jeannie Andrews of Austell, Sandra Strickland of Powder Springs, Brenda Tate of Marietta, Rhonda Cothran of Mableton;
Grandchildren, Weston Powers, Brent Cumbess, Allison Tate, Katie Strickland, & Brian Tate; Great grandchildren, Scott & Rebecca Powers; Sister, Jo Teeter of Concord, NC;
Brother, Jim Cothran of Winston Salem, NC; Sister-in-law, Angela Cothran of Valdosta; and
Many nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Terry Marbut officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4 –8 PM.
