Robert Benjamin "Bennie" Long's Obituary
Rev. Robert B. “Bennie” Long, age 91, of Mableton passed February 28, 2017. Bennie was a minister to senior adults and deacon at Davis Chapel, a volunteer at Wellstar, and a long-time member of Concord Baptist Church. He retired from Sears Robuck after 42 years of service. Bennie is survived by his children, Donny (Glenda) Long of Clarksville, Terry (Joyce) Long of Mableton, and Barry (Pam) Long of Austell; numerous grandchildren; sister, Mae York of Mableton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Concord Baptist Church.
