Just a few simple words for my Brother. We did spend a lot of time together over the years when we were young but as we matured because of the four year age difference that time together diminished quickly. High schoolers didn’t hang with grade schoolers then when I entered high school, he was off to the military for four years. Then I finished high school and went into the military for four years just as Dick was returning.
We both settled in the Pittsburgh area with jobs and began raising our families. This time we did get to spend a number of years socializing and raising our families and got to know each other as adults and actually liked doing things together. Then with relocations to other states for both of us the distance between us increased and the visitations decreased.
Over the last 15-20 years we did have a few visits and stayed in touch by phone but had not seen each other in a number of years so I had just made plans to spend some time with him on his 80th birthday in June.
We were both looking forward to catching up so even though this didn’t work out as planned at least our thoughts were together. So we will still catch up Bro, just a little further down the road.
