Paul Susko was my best friend. I'm sure there are a lot of folks that would say the same thing. Paul became the best friend to many .
Paul is also the bravest man that I've ever known. With 10 months left in his hitch(Army term of service) he received orders to VietNam 1970. He just said "I'll just go over there and get it over with." He was immediately assigned to a unit in the bush (jungle) and was involved in 3 major fire fights. He did not carry a weapon, just a ruck sack full of medical supplies to help other troops.
He made it out, moved briefly to Tuscon and then Atlanta. Besides his job as a counselor, he enjoyed white water canoeing, motorcycling in north Georgia mountains, boating, rafting, Flames games, Braves games and of course golf. He met his wife to be Susan, got married and started a beautiful family.
After retirement, he kept active in helping others, mostly St. Vincent dePaul Society.
I know that you come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing except your good name and good works. Paul certainly had plenty of both.
Rest in peace my friend, surely the Lord will bless you and keep you close.
