My friend, Miriam, has passed through this earthly life and is now in heaven with God. When we first met, I had been in Mobile two weeks. We were neighbors. That first meeting created a friendship for life, and we went through all of it together. She and Carl became family, as did her daughters and grandchildren. So, my sister is in heaven where all is at peace. The first time I went to church with her, she told me how much she liked my singing and said I had a voice that needed to be in the choir. I told her singing was was a gift from God. From that day on, I loved singing and we sang Jesus Loves Me a lot. When she and Carl moved to Georgia, I would sing her the song as it was her favorite and leave a message on her voice mail. or I would sing to her when she answered the telephone. Miriam, I am singing it every day. Thank you for the laughter and tears, and mowing grass and picking up trash on Riverside Drive, and for sharing food toether right afterHurrican Katrina. Cal and Miriam slept through the storm while I listened to the wind and rain. I know she is tnding to the clouds and gardens and keeping them pretty. Her smile and her honesty and faith was infectious. She would sometimes say she wasn't a good friend because she didn't call me as often as I called her. That didn't matter. She was my best friend, and my first friend in Mobile. She loved funny cards and had such a sense of humor and told you so! I love her and will miss her but will see her again. May God bless the family who will miss her but her spirit and her love lives in you and shines in her grandkinds. She loved her son-in=law Dick and was so happy he and Lisa found each other. And, Susan your mother was so proud of you and the wonderful woman and mother you became in raising Jack and Matthew.
Her love of nature, keeping the environment clean, flowers and butterflies is something I see each morning when I sit outside.
God bless each of you.
