Lois Dean Holbrook, age 97 of Austell, passed away March 23, 2019. Lois was a resident of the South Cobb community for over 70 years. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Marietta. Lois and her husband Lo Read Obituary

Of my years of practice their have been few patients I truly looked forward to seeing, but Lois Holbrook was one of them. I have memories as a young child going with my Grandfather to her and her husbands apple orchard, even though I did not know her at the time. I had the honor of caring for her for many years. When my children were young she would bring them batting cage tokens and she always came in the office with a smile and asked about my family. She had a caring spirit and loved to talk about her business adventures, playing Bridge and whatever she was up to at the time. She had spunk and attitude and was always a "bit" talkative. She always made me smile. She will be missed.

My wife Lillian and I became friends of Lois and Lonnie Holbrook shortly after we married in 1968. We had the privilege of teaching their daughter Lynn in Sunday School at First United Methodist Church in Marietta and became good friends over the years. I remember visiting Lonnie at the apple orchard and having many discussions with Lois over the years. We got to know Lois even better after Lonnie died and looked forward to seeing her almost every Sunday at church. She was a caring, kind, and generous woman, who was not reluctant to express her feelings or opinions. We will miss her and want to express our deepest sympathy to her family.
