While I didn't know Mr. Yancey, I do know Kathryn and so I know he must have been a wonderful man.

Today your hearts are heavy with the home going of your husband and father.
Just know that he is forever happy, healthy and enjoying his reunion with loved ones in Heaven. What a blessing it is to know he is in Heaven and you will see him again someday.
Jimmy and I have already walked this road with our fathers; Walter Lewis in 2002 and Heron Bone in 2007. We miss them, love them, talk happy times about them, and most of all remember the love they gave to each of us.
As a family you will move forward, too. It's not easy and no one can do anything to lessen your hurt. But, together you share his memories, happy and sad, tell funny and interesting stories about him to the young ones, and remember how he loved each of you.
As Bro. Bob Baxter says so often, move away from the sorrow as soon as you can and remember the good and happy times not the sad times times of the past week or so.
That has helped both of us. You will really miss him but always know he is in Heaven now watching over each of you until it's your time to join him in Heaven.
God bless each of you.

Janet,Phillip,Kathy And Stephen,
A poem that my Mother wrote:
I know i'll have someone to take my hand
As I cross over to the other land
To the land beyond this place
I shall see my Fathers face
And rejoice in the love given to me
From the bondage of this life I shall be free
Glory be to God, in Heaven on high
That I shall see in the sweet bye and bye
I shall be so glad to see his glorious face
At the end of this trying race.
