June Whitehead Monson's Obituary
Mrs. June Whitehead Monson, age 95 of Pensacola FL, widow of the late Alcy P. Whitehead and late Rudolph Monson, passed away at her residence early morning on March 7, 2012. While living in Atlanta, Mrs. Monson was active in her church Stone Mountain Methodist, Alpha Chi Omega Mother's Club, and Better Films. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia in 1937 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. Mrs. Monson is survived by a son, Joseph Daniell Whitehead and his wife Joyce Heath Whitehead of Millbrook, AL and a daughter, June Whitehead Johnson of Orange Beach, AL, 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012, 11:00 AM at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the College of Family and Consumer Sciences in the name of June Shirley Whitehead Monson BSHE 1937. Arrangements are with Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory, Austell.
