John Hamilton Mitchell's Obituary
Mr. John “Shawn” Hamilton Mitchell, age 58, of Cedartown, GA passed away June 12, 2016. John was an avid HAM radio operator and enjoyed listening to the police scanner. From an early age, he enjoyed music and played bass guitar in a local band in his early years. John also enjoyed photography. He was a 911 communications officer at several local agencies in Cobb County, such as Kennesaw P.D., Marietta P.D., Cobb County 911, and Smyrna 911. John is preceded in death by mother, Ozelle Mitchell; father, Emmett Mitchell; and brother, Joseph Mitchell. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Ray Thackston of Gadsden, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Donna Mitchell of Covington; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Mitchell of Dallas. He is also survived by several beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Family will hold a graveside service at Flint Hill Cemetery on Saturday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m with Rev. Allen Young officiating.
