John T. Laster, Jr., age 88 of Dallas, passed away January 21, 2013. John was a member of Canaan Fellowship Baptist Church in Mableton. He was a World War II veteran, serving with both the United States Army and the United States Read Obituary
I was so saddened to hear about John. I have so many nice memories of both John and Polly. I enjoyed watching the video, It gave me the oportunity to see them in their younger years before I met them. Their love for theiir family was so apparent.

Pa, You may be gone but I Will Never Forget You. Thanks for being my inspiration to serve our country in the US NAVY. Thanks as well for being the disciplinarian that you were at times in my life when I needed it the most. Thank You for leading the Christian lifestyle you did because it showed me how to live my life . I may have fallen short in several aspects of my life but I know you always supported me and always will. Not only did You Talk the Talk but You Walked the Walk in life in all aspects because you believed every word you spoke & never wavered from those words. Thanks for for being the man of God that married me to wife which led to your first great-grandson & for that I will always be in debt to you. I Miss You & Always Will but I Will Never Forget You. We are only seperated for now because I know I will see you with Our lord & Saviour one day soon. I remember the remarkable message of charity that Uncle Johnny spoke at my mama's (Willie's) service. It brought great comfort at a time of tremendous time of uncertainty. We will all miss his wisdom and humor. Farewell my brother farewell.
