Hollis Young Miller's Obituary
Hollis Miller, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away on April 17th, 2023 at Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA, at the age of 70. Her unwavering love, kind-heartedness, and dedication to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Hollis was born on December 29th, 1952, in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, to the proud parents Daniel and Beryl Young. She was the youngest of three sisters and shared a close bond with her siblings throughout her life. During her formative years, Hollis and her family relocated to Lynchburg, Virginia, where they would create cherished memories together.
After completing her education, Hollis embarked on a successful career in the corporate business arena. Her professionalism and determination made a lasting impact on those she worked with. However, it was in her later years that Hollis discovered her true calling and found immense joy in being a dedicated mother, devoted wife, and exceptional homemaker.
Hollis poured her heart and soul into creating a nurturing and loving environment for her family. Her commitment to her loved ones was unwavering, and she made it her mission to provide them with countless opportunities and experiences that would shape their lives and create lasting memories. Her selflessness and dedication to her family were a testament to her character and the love she held in her heart.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Mark Miller, and their daughter, Megan Miller. Hollis's sisters, Lynne Loving, Mary Alice Gettens, and Anne Sturgill, along with her brother, Mark Petersen, also survive her. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, Leah and Erin Gettens, and her nephews, Jonathan Peterson, Chip Loving and his family, Hunter Carwile and his family, Ian Sturgill, and Matthew Campbell.
Hollis Miller's presence in the lives of those who knew her was a gift beyond measure. Her love, compassion, and unwavering dedication will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories that will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
In honor of Hollis's life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 10th at 11:00am at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home in Austell, GA. Family, friends, and all those touched by her kindness are invited to join in celebrating the remarkable life of Hollis Miller immediately following the service for a luncheon reception at the funeral home.
