Haleigh Simone Lafayette, age 19 of Powder Springs passed away, June 10, 2013.
Haleigh Simone Lafayette is survived by her Mom and Dad, Michelle and Trexlar Ratliff. Her sister, Canady Ratliff, and brother Torry Ratliff. Byron and Joyce Bobb (Grandparents), Dorothy Ratliff (Grandmother), Brandon and Daniel Bobb (Uncles), Crystal Harris (Aunt), Marcia Anderson and Family (Cousins), Ella Sandy (Great Aunt), Peggy Watson (Great Aunt). She also leaves a host of family and friends to cherish her memory. Haleigh loved life! Especially, Kendra Bullock, Jessica Goodwin, Kaneisha Jones, Lesdy Giselth & Janelle Wright.
She came into this world with a great odd stacked against her, but Haleigh grew into a strong young woman. Haleigh loved music. She began playing the piano at age 5 after see Ray Charles perform at Centennial Park. She learned to plan the violin in the sixth grade, and continued through high school. Haleigh would teach herself songs. If she heard it, she would learn how to play it. One of her favorite songs is by Yurima, "A river flows in you". Haleigh graduated from South Cobb High School in 2012m, and was accepted into Georgia State University.
It is said that is takes a "village to raise a child", we will like to thank all of those who cared for Haleigh throughout her 19 years. Thank you to all of the staff of Children's Healthcare, including, but not limited to: Dr. Tamara New, Dr. Bea Files, Betsy, Charmaine, Tina, Ms. Pat, Holly, Meghan, Maurice, Ms. Bonnie, Sabrina and ALL of the staff in the Hematology and Oncology Clinic at Scottish Rite. A special thank you to Dr. Doug Collins. Haleigh was an inspiration to everyone she met. She will be missed but never forgotten. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 2:00 PM, Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Pastor Tommy Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12-2 pm at the funeral home.
