Giles McAden Myers Jr.'s Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved uncle, Giles McAden Myers Jr, age 81, at Your Life Memory Care in Pensacola, Florida on June 2, 2024. Giles was a believer in Christ and a true gentleman. He has joined and is rejoicing with his dear parents Giles and Mary Myers in Heaven. He will be lovingly remembered by his soulmate Pat Whiteside, sister Monnie Sellars and her husband Ken Sellars, his nephew Jeff Sellars and wife Sandy, nephew Greg Sellars and wife Denise, as well as great nephews, great nieces and cousins.
Giles lived most of his life in Marietta, Georgia. After graduating from Brown High School in SW Atlanta, he attended and graduated from Southern Tech with an Engineering Degree.
He worked in aviation as an engineer for Delta for 40 years.
Giles was a member of Atlanta First Presbyterian Church most of his life. Giles sang in the choir for many decades and adored worshiping through song with his choir family. He also loved playing classical instruments, including most recently the cello.
Giles had a great love for airplanes and sailboats. He was a pilot, mariner, and skier. He was well traveled and loved and cherished time with family and friends. Giles was thankful for his abundant life.
Graveside services for family and friends will be at Westview Cemetery at 10:00 am Saturday June 8. Arrangements handled by Davis-Struempf Funeral Home in Austell, Georgia.
