Gail Sanders Devine's Obituary
Gail Sanders Devine, 73, of Powder Springs, GA passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
She was born in Atlanta, GA in 1949 to the late Lewis Grady and Pauline Brady Sanders and
was the youngest of seven siblings. She was married to Mike Devine of Tampa, FL for 35
years. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Hiram, GA.
In her professional life, Gail was an organized office manager for both a power and telephone company and funeral home. In her personal life, she was known as a caring and sweet person with a great sense of humor. She greeted everyone with her sweet smile and made you feel welcome. She was the natural connector and glue for her family and friends. She lovingly kept in touch with the people in her life and made sure everyone knew how others were doing. Gail loved the Lord and served Him and various churches throughout her life through the singles ministry, producing the church newsletter, singing in the choir, caring for babies in the nursery and teaching Sunday School. She believed in and taught the importance of showing gratitude for the blessings in your life. She was fiercely proud of her children and grandchildren, and was their biggest fan in the stands for their many sporting events. She was not known as a loud person except when it came to cheering on her kids and grandkids. She was a dog lover and had many dogs throughout her life and was happy when she had the opportunity to dog sit her grand dogs. Gail was a kind-hearted and easy going person who was loved by everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Helen Thrasher, Sara Thomson and Dot Crowder. Gail is survived by her husband, Mike, son, David and wife Nancy Morris of Milton, GA; daughter, Sharon and husband Kerry Ward of Dunwoody, GA, and her four grandchildren, Connor, Nathan, Tyler and Lindsey. She is also survived by her brother, Johnny Lewis Sanders, and sisters Nancy Loudermilk and Peggy McElroy, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, June 30th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1st, at 11:00am at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Atlanta, GA.
