Fred Leon Hicks' Obituary
Fred Leon Hicks, age 86, of Mableton passed away September 5, 2019. Fred was born August 12, 1933 in Cleburne County, Alabama to the late Henry and Myrtle Hicks.
Fred was a long time member of Mableton First Baptist Church. He loved traveling, gardening, beekeeping and was an avid walker. Fred served in the United States Army, worked many years at Lockheed-Martin and retired from Focal Point Architectural Products.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Dot Hicks, brother James Hicks and sister Montel Ray. He is survived by his children, Pamela Henry, Selena (Greg) Hutcheson, Melanie (Don) Corbett, and Steve (Stephanie) Hicks, grandchildren, Brian (Melissa) Vaught, Valerie Bliven, Whitney (Dustin) Hinds, Ansley Hutcheson, Asa Hicks and Adrienne Hicks, 11 great grandchildren, sisters Frances Hulsey, Virginia Parker, Ruby Shackleford, and Linda Faye (David) Ginn.
Visitation-Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 4pm-6pm at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home, 1975 East-West Connector, Austell, GA, 30106. Graveside service-Monday, September 9, 2019, 11am, at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens, 581 Veterans Memorial Hwy., SE, Mableton, GA, 30126, the Rev. David Ginn officiating.
