Evelyn Darlene “Dot” Townsend of Powder Springs passed away June 4, 2025.
Dot was married to the love of her life, Rev. Glenn Townsend, for an extraordinary 69 years. Together, they built a life rooted in service, ministry, and mutual devotion—touching countless lives in their community and beyond.
Dot had a servant's heart, caring for others with a quiet strength and a loving touch. Whether it was offering a comforting word, preparing meals, or sitting by a bedside, she was always there when someone needed her. Dot’s life was a living testament to selflessness.
A gifted seamstress, Dot had an eye for beauty and a heart for creativity. Her handmade dolls, stitched with precision and love, were treasured by children and adults alike. She poured herself into every stitch, often creating cherished keepsakes for family, friends, and those in need.
She was also a spirited Atlanta Braves fan, rarely missing a game and always cheering on her team with enthusiasm.
Dot’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a family who adored her, a community who respected her, and a world made better by her presence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Glenn Townsend, and sons, Timmy and Jeff Townsend.
Dot is survived by her son, Rick Townsend of Blairsville; grandchildren, Katie (Andrew) Auger, Blake Townsend, Felicia (Josh) Evans, Melanie Townsend, Quinton Snider, Jessamie Volk; sister, Bobbie Nell Alexander.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Tibbits and Tommy Paine officiating.
Interment will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday prior to the service from 11:00AM-1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family, the family kindly requests that donations be made to help fund funeral services.
