When I hear the name Dixie I think of two Big Es...Energetic and Empathetic.
Grades 1-7 I went to Riverside Elementary. I knew my people and my place. In 1960 my parents bought a new home across Bankhead Hwy in Beverly Forest. In 8th Grade I was to be a new kid at Skyview; a cloudy prospect fraught with the perils of the unfamiliar.
First day at Skyview my first enounter was with the Heart of Dixie bringing with her a Smile as wide as the Big Sky of Montana. That singular moment from youth has remained a part of me for 62 years. If Dixie was ever a part of your life she is still a part of it. Making a lasting impression was natural for her. I went on to a wonderful year in 1960/61 and a wonderful life since.
Haven't seen each other in person in 58 years, but have been FB friends for 7 years. For me, Dixie will always be held as memories of humor and grace. Started to say we are all less for losing her...but, in fact, we're more for having known her.♥️
Stacey and the rest of Dixie's Family now have to go forward from the loss of life while lauding the love that Dixie personified. Blessings and Healing 🙏🏻. RS, Stan Jones
