Cora Lee Porter's Obituary
Cora Lee Elizabeth Porter, age 93 of Mableton, passed away January 10, 2020. Cora was preceded in death by her son, Charles Porter; grandchild, Kathy Austin; great-grandchild, Amanda Hembree; daughter-in-law, Barbara Porter.
Cora was a member of Concord Baptist Church since 1956 and retired from Montag in 1988 after 37 years. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was also a member of Builders for Christ Missions where she traveled to many states including Texas, Maine, Washington, Arizona, Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama.
Cora is survived by her son, Wesley Porter of Temple; daughter-in-law, Susan Porter of Waco, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sheree Porter of Mableton; daughter, Elizabeth Shead; grandchildren, Ronda Finnell, Brandie Porter, Charlie Porter, Jason Porter, Julie Porter, Rebecca Pritchett, Darren Porter, Melissa Anderson, Dana Porter and Rachael Byrd; 14 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild. She is also survived by many close friends and church family.
Funeral Services will be held Monday 11:00 AM at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church.
