Thank you Charles Skinner for the life you lived among all of us that loved you. For being a wonderful Father-in-Law who taught me about the Bible, about playing the guitar, and how to sing in the Orange Hill Choir. For Sunday afternoons around the dinner table sharing stories with the family. There are too many memories to share here, but one thing stands out from all the rest, thank you for your unconditional love.

HI Mrs. Betty, Becky, Carol, Bill and rest of the family.
I've just viewed the video and loved what you all put together. As I got into the pics where things begin to look familar to me, I could recall many great times I had while "hanging out" at your home with Carol. I know you all still miss Libby terribly and she and Mr. Charles are doing some catching up with each other now. I just hope that Mr. Charles forgave me for the many times that Carol, Karran and I got into mischief during our teenage years!! I enjoyed singing in choir under his directing and will always have a beautiful vision of his smiling face in my mind! Thinking of you all and much LOVE and Prayers are being lifted for you.
Love,

I will never forget watching "Laugh In" and Uncle Charles couldn't believe how SHORT those skirts were hemmed. He immediately passed a household rule on skirt length!
And then, there is that 3 week long journey to California and back in his Pontiac Catalina. Picnics at rest areas, Grand Canyon, Carlsbad Caverns, shopping across the border in Mexico, the San Diego Zoo, my first shrimp cocktail and, oh yeah, Bill and some other sneaks poured cans of Sprite in the hotel's swimming pool. Can't believe we all made it back in one piece. Exhausted but safe.
Thanks, Uncle Charles!
PAPA,
I AM CARRYING ON THE TRADITION. THERE WAS A GRAMMATICAL ERROR IN YOUR OBITUARY. I CALLED TO HAVE IT CORRECTED. KNEW YOU WOULD APPRECIATE THE IRONY. OUR TIME TOGETHER WAS SPECIAL, PARTICULARLY THOSE LAST FEW WEEKS. THOSE LONG NIGHTS IN THE HOSPITAL WERE MADE SHORTER BY THE MEMORIES WE SHARED AND SONGS WE SANG. I MISS YOU SO MUCH.
YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE!
LOVE,
PUDUNK
I love you Papa!
Love, Ellie
Many of the hymns I know today are as a result of attending Orange Hill Baptist church and Charles leadership as director of music in years 1967-1978. I enjoyed many Sunday afternoons of tennis with Charles and have remembered him often. God Bless the Skinner family during this sad time.
