Candace Marie Brisbane's Obituary
Candace Marie Brisbane, daughter of the late Alton Warren Brisbane, Sr. and Geneva Brisbane, was born in Dayton, Ohio, December 9, 1959. She moved with her family to Yellow Springs, Ohio in 1961 and graduated from Yellow Springs High School in 1978. She received a BS Degree in Business from Fish University in Nashville, TN in 1982. Candace lived in Houston, Texas and New Orleans, LA until moving to Marietta, GA in 1987. Most of her career was in the Banking and Customer Service Industries.
Candace enjoyed many different activities. She loved music and played the French horn in high school. She was not only an accomplished artist herself, but she enjoyed visiting museums all over the country. Candace was also an avid gardener and could be found in her yard the moment the weather warmed. She was active in her church, Light of Hope Presbyterian Church, where she had served as an Elder and on numerous committees. Her love of travel was the inspiration for many trips across the country as well as to Scotland and Africa.
Candace cherished her family and friends. Much of her time was spent with them, including her two closes friends in Georgia, Clarissa Robinson, a classmate from Fisk University and Rhonda Clark.
She is preceded in death by her father, Alton W. Brisbane, Sr., brother-in-law, Ronnie Maurice Calhoun and many cherished relatives.
Survivors include her mother Geneva Brisbane of Ohio, sisters Glenda Brisbane of California, and Carla Brisbane Calhoun (her twin) of Maryland, one brother Alton W. Brisbane, Jr. (Angela) of Maryland, an aunt and uncle James and Jessie Jones of Pennsylvania, nieces and nephews Dorian Calhoun, Briana Calhoun, Elijah Brisbane, Noah Brisbane, Christen Brisbane, Matthew Brisbane, and numerous other relatives and friends. Private Family Services will be held at later date.
