Alton M. T. Robbins' Obituary
Alton M. T. Robbins, 92, of Smyrna, formerly of Mableton, Georgia died Thursday, September 12, 2013.
Alton is preceded in death by his late wife, Dorothy (Reeves) Robbins, his parents, John and Ora (Foster) Robbins, and his three brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Ozell (Phillips) Robbins, four daughters, Bernice Adams (Duluth, GA), Martha (Frank) Browning (Dallas, GA), Rita (Ron) Coppock (Roswell, GA), Shelia (Bill) Swain (Mableton, GA) and son, Steve (Andrea) Robbins (Flowery Branch, GA), seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, many nephews, nieces, friends and his church family at Vinings Lake Baptist Church.
Alton was born April 25, 1921 in Blount County, Alabama. He was always a hard worker and was a heavy machinery operator in several industries. Alton was a World War II veteran. He was inducted into the army in October 1942 and served until October 1945. Alton received many decorations including the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster and Bronze Star.
The family will receive visitors Friday night, September 13, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The service will be held at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 1:00PM with visitation starting at 11:30 AM. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, GA.
