Zackary Pearson Jr.'s Obituary
Zackary Pearson, Jr, age 87, of Austell, passed away August 29, 2020. Zackary was a long-time member of Mitchell Chapel in Sparta, GA. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Zackary was an avid reader and craftsman, specializing in woodworking. He had a heart for people, whether it was being a mentor at the City University of New York, working in political activism, or being president of the Oakhill Neighborhood Association. His children lovingly describe his as an “all-around family man” and he will be dearly missed.
During his life, Zackary was married to Sela Serenity Pearson, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death are his children, Vanessa Pearson, Michelle Pearson, Zackary Pearson, Edward Pearson, and Anthony Pearson. He is survived by his children, Gregory Pearson of Covington, GA, Maxine Pearson of Brooklyn, NY, Claudia Sewell of Hampton, GA, Leonard Pearson of Austell, GA, and Jonathan Pearson of Douglasville, GA; sister, Annabelle Pearson of Brooklyn, NY; over 50 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Private family services to be held. Interment, Georgia National Cemetery.
