William Donald Medley's Obituary
Mr. William Donald Medley, age 76, of Lithia Springs completed his journey through life on this earth on Tuesday, March 13, 2007. His family and friends take delight that Don shared his journey and life with each traveler encountered as he navigated the roads of life. He began his quest for life in humble beginnings in the West Atlanta community of Adamsville in 1930. There he met and married his life long traveling companion of over fifty-seven years Sara (Toni) Bryant. While serving his country as member of the United States Navy their first of two sons was born, Earl Medley. Earl and his wife Teresa now reside in Powder Springs. After returning to Atlanta's Westside they were blessed with a second son Philip, now residing in Signal Mountain, TN, with his wife Amy and Don's grandson Myles. Don is also survived by niece Jerry Medley Patton and nephews Paul Medley both of Alpharetta and Ronny Medley of Ballground. Don's remarkable traits were based on honesty, integrity and compassion for his fellow man. He successfully used these traits along with his unequaled work ethic and superb talent to benefit all he came in contact with. Don worked as a Printing Pressman for Ruralist Press Inc. for years until attending Atlanta Art Institute. He then called upon his gifts and talents to supervise the Six Flags Over Georgia Art and Sign department and his own graphic arts business for over thirty years. Don fabricated the peach used to usher in each New Year for Underground Atlanta. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, March 18, 2007, 2 PM at Davis Struempf Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends 1-2 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tranquility Hospice.
