William Clifford Myers' Obituary
On Friday, January 21, 2011, Clifford Myers went to be with the Lord. Clifford, or “Muley” as he was known to many, dedicated much of his life to public service, serving in the United States Air Force, working as a City of Atlanta Fire Fighter, and finishing his career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. A well known story teller, fisherman, and golfer, he shot a hole-in-one at the Lithia Springs Golf Course, in 1963. Mr. Myers was also very active in his community as a member of the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs, the Masonic Lodge of Lithia Springs, and the Yaarab Shrine Temple, also in Lithia Springs.
Clifford was preceded in death by his son, Bill Myers, and his wife of fifty-six years, Gradyne Bell Myers. He is survived by his children Robert Myers and Frances "Honey" Myers Jennings and her husband Mike Jennings, his grandchildren Carrie Myers, Brandy Waits, Taylor Jennings, Daniel Barner, Amanda Roberts, and Alicia Westbrook, and his great-grandchildren Chase Waits, Braydon Westbrook, Jacob Roberts, and MacKayla and Zoe Barner, as well as much extended family and countless friends.
The family will receive visitors at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 to 8 pm, and the funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs on Sunday at 3:00 PM. Mr. Myers will lie in state at the church for an hour before services begin, and burial will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
