William Eugene "Gene" Garmon's Obituary
William Eugene “Gene” Garmon, age 89, of Mableton passed away November 25, 2020. Gene was a member of Teamsters Local Union 728 out of Atlanta. In his free time, he loved to golf, fish, and watch sports. He especially loved baseball, having played and coached in earlier years. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who will be dearly missed.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Delores Garmon; grandson, Charles “Chuck” Ammons; and sisters, Chestene, Della, and Laverne. He is survived by his daughters, Delores Ammons, and her husband, Jerry, of Mableton, and Cindy Herendeen, and her husband, D.C., of Douglasville; brother, H.C. “Buck” Garmon of Austell; grandchildren, Lori, Jessica, and Katie; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Joshua, and Gracie; and many beloved extended family members.
A graveside service will be held Monday, November 30, 3:00 PM at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Anderson Mill Health and Rehabilitation at 2130 Anderson Mill Rd, Austell, GA 30106.
