William Douglas Fox's Obituary
William Douglas Fox, age 75, of Franklin, NC. passed away August 23, 2020.
Bill was born on February 2, 1945 in Austell, GA. As a Navy brat, Bill was moved around quite a bit. One such move took the family overseas to Naples, Italy. Bill graduated from South Cobb High School in 1963. Bill attended the Georgia Institute of Technology for one semester before realizing college was not for him. As an Airman first class in the United States Air Force Reserves, Bill was called to duty in January of 1968 due to the Pueblo Incident. With deployment imminent, Bill was granted a 3 day pass to marry his girlfriend, Judi Russell, and honeymoon in Cataloochee. Bill fortunately remained stateside for the duration of his service at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta, GA. A natural born salesman, Bill worked for many years with Clairol, Inc. and in 1982 became an authorized Snap-On Tools dealer from which he would later retire in 1999. Bill was known for his charm, natural good looks and uncanny sense of humor.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother and father, Roy and Mary Fox, of Austell, and his wife of 36 years, Judi Fox, of Stone Mountain.
He is survived by sons, Steve Fox, (Jenny) of Bostwick and Jason Fox, (Tara) of Cumming; grandchildren, Kiera, Kylie, Sean and Maren; life partner of 16 years, Caralie “Ceelie” Knable; sister, Patsy McCollough; and many beloved extended family members.
