Willard "Hank" Floyd's Obituary
FLOYD, Mr. Willard "Hank" Floyd, age 85, passed away peacefully at Cobb WellStar Hospital Thursday, August 7th, 2014. A lifetime resident of Cobb County, Hank was a home builder and developer in both Cobb and Fulton counties. He served as a Cobb County Sheriff's Deputy for more than 20 years. A lifetime lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, raising hunting dogs and working his two-acre garden.Hank also raised and trained bloodhounds for the Cobb County Sheriff's office. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jean Davis Floyd, daughter Jan Floyd Ros and her husband Frank Ros, son Wayne Floyd and his wife Ashley and four grandchildren, Frank Ros, Bryce Ros , Destiny Floyd, and Devon Floyd. Mr. Floyd was always there to give a helping hand to his friends. Visitation will be Saturday, August 9, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Davis Struempf Funeral Home (1975 East-West Connector, Austell, GA). The service will be held on Sunday, August 10, at 2:00 p.m. in the Davis Struempf Chapel with Rev. Eddie Barton and Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. Eulogies will be given by Sheriff Neil Warren and retired Sheriff Bill Hutson. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Concord Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1430, Mableton, Georgia, 30126.
