Wilford Lowell "W.L." Eidson's Obituary
Wilford Lowell Eidson (W.L., also known as Leroy), age 87 of Powder Springs passed away peacefully with family by his side Wednesday, January 12, 2022. He served faithfully as a Deacon at Shady Grove Baptist Church. He retired from United Telegraph Workers in 1996.
W.L. was born September 3, 1934 to Homer William Eidson and Lela Mae Sosbee Eidson. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He loved the Lord with all his heart and guided those he loved to Jesus Christ. He will be dearly missed by his "village" of family and friends who cared so deeply for him.
W.L. is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Curtis (Lisa) Eidson of Mableton, Derek Eidson of Dallas, and daughter-in-law, Shannon Eidson; granddaughters, Hunter Worthen (husband, Clifford) and Pace Eidson; great-grandchildren, Winn Dixie, Ryman Baer, and Anna Renee. He is also survived by his sisters, Lettie Thackston and Shirley Thurmond (husband, Ralph); and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Lois; his brothers, Curtis Eidson, Artis Eidson, and Douglas Eidson; sisters, Parry Lee Crew, Izetta Landers, and Faye Rakestraw.
W.L. was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served with the NIKE ARADCOM Battery “C” out of Middletown, CT.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church (Shady Grove Church Road in Dallas, GA, 30132) with Reverend Jimmy Tibbitts and Reverend Todd Tibbitts officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens with Brother Hershel Tibbitts officiating.
W.L. will Lie in State at the church from 12:00 to 2:00 PM before the service. The family will receive friends at this time.
