Wilbur Reid's Obituary
Mr. Wilbur Eugene Reid, age 79, of Powder Springs, passed away September 25, 2013. He was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Powder Springs. Mr. Reid is predeceased by his wife, Ruth Jerkins Reid, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage; and is survived by son, Phillip Reid, daughter-in-law, Tina, and grandson, Evan, of Houston, TX; daughter, Penni Reid Holt, son-in-law, Jay, and granddaughter, Lydia, of Winter Park, FL.
Mr. Reid served 23 years in the United States Army, seeing duty in Korea, Germany, and Vietnam and retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He enjoyed a second career as Project Manager and Assistant Vice-President for First Atlanta /Wachovia Bank.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 3 PM, at First United Methodist Church of Powder Springs. Interment will be in Mozley Memorial Gardens, Lithia Springs. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 PM-8 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home and Crematory, Austell.
