Virginia Nelson Morris' Obituary
Mrs. Virginia Nelson Morris, age 82 of Marietta passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a caregiver and a pillar of strength.
Mrs. Morris was married to Jeff “Mo” Morris for 64 years. After being pen pals they met in front of the Strand Theatre in Marietta and she then waited on him to return from WWII. She was employed with Southern Bell for 37 years and was a member of the Pioneers. She was a member of Shiloh Hills Baptist Church. She loved God, her church, the Bible, and Gospel music. Mrs. Morris could often be found gardening, doing needlepoint, volunteering with voter registration or enjoying cooking and baking. Her passions were her friends and her family, especially the grandchildren.
Mrs. Morris was in and out of the hospital since 1997 when she was left partially invalid from a surgery. In 2005 a broken hip necessitated 24 hour care. She formed close bonds with loving caregivers who became her angels. Along with her loving husband and children, Kim Hollifield and Connie Baxter cared for Virginia.
Her family offer special thank you for years of loving dedicated service provided by Dr. Richard L. Griffith and his staff, Dr. Nora C. Hurt and most recently, Vista Care Hospice Team.
