Therese Arisda's Obituary
Therese Yvonne Arisda, also known to us as our beloved Madame Manno was born on October 27, 1928, in Cayes Haiti to the late Marguerite Jerome and Zai Arisda. She had three brothers: René, Nelson, and Osnel. Madame Manno was their only surviving daughter. She was always a firm believer in the Lord. Madame Manno was a prominent businesswoman and she loved to travel. In 1962, Madame Manno was united in holy matrimony to the late Emmanuel Francois. God blessed them with many wonderful years of marriage. To this union, three children were born: Anne (Bouboute), Marie Jeanne (Fifi), and Emmanuela (Jocelyne). The family adopted daughters: Rose Seila, Marie Gardith and one son, Labon Joseph. Madame Manno was a God fearing woman. She was gentle, loving, stern with a God like spirit. Madame Manno was selfless and honored her heritage. She loved her family and took pleasure in watching all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and take their place in this world. Madame Manno was loved and respected by everyone who met her. She was a phenomenal chef and enjoyed it immensely.
Madame Manno entered the United States of America from Haiti in 1984. She visited countless states and countries: Florida, New York, Rhode Island, Ohio, Alabama, Tennessee, and Canada to lists few. Throughout the years, Madame Manno continued to run her business and travel. Madame Manno was never stagnant. She loved to experience life. Thus, living a life many would have loved to live.
Madame Manno was introduced to the church at a young age and remained a faithful disciple of God. She was a dedicated member of the Haitian Ministry Theophile Church In Christ in Atlanta, Georgia. Madame Manno met her best friends during this time: Sister Codada, Sister Annette and Sister Saint Fleur. Madame Manno was a devout Christian and servant of God. She was a member of the choir for 30 years and loved to sing, the choir traveled many places to sing. Under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Joseph. Her favorite Bible verses were Psalms 23, 34, 46, 27 and 10 as the Lord was Madame Manno's Shepherd.
Madame Manno was relentless. Her grace and strength allowed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to be in a country that gave them privileges that were not afforded to her. She would push her family to be unyielding, fearless, and educated.
On Thursday morning, September 9, 2021, God called Madame Manno home. She will be deeply missed. When you are born you have a designated mission to complete, and God knew Madame Manno had completed her mission, her job was well done. Therese lived 92 beautiful years. We will always have fond memories of her.
Therese Yvonne "Madame Manno" Arisda is preceded in death by her parents Zai Arisda and Marguerite Jerome, brothers, Rene, Nelson, and Osnel Arisda and late husband Emmanuel Francois. Therese leaves behind to celebrate her legacy six children: Anne (Anderson), Marie Jeanne, Emmanuela (Salonis) Rose Seila, Marie Gardith and Labon Joseph; grandchildren Lenis, Vanessa, Michela, Anderson Jr, Andrew, Johane, Patricia, Karen, Christopher, Steve, Francesca, Raymond, Brian, Salonia, Salonis II, Jason, Ralph, Daniel, Stevenson, Stacey, Sandy, Jennifer, and Jeffery; great-grandchildren: Devonya, Celeste, Brianna, Katriel, Franckel, Frantricia, Therese, Laneisha, Patrick, Emma, Micah, Paulovena, Malik, Braelin, Kennidayco, Tennyson, Coobenstine, Jadeah, Alice, Raphael, Brinna, Kane, Reginald; nieces and nephews: Benia Pierre, Keteline Piere, Choubie and Alan Gerrad, Osmane, Presnel, Closel, Darline, Peter, Marjorie, Silvie Arisda, Elvie Petit; and a host of other devoted cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 11:00 AM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jacob officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM prior to the service.
