Terry Coleman Sims' Obituary
Terry Coleman Sims, age 83, of Mableton passed away December 5, 2025.
Terry was born in Rome, Georgia, to John Robert Sims and Maude Jeanette Rigdon Sims. After graduating, he moved to Atlanta, where he spent seven years working for the U.S. Postal Service. He later discovered his true calling in the commercial real estate industry, working alongside developers and building a respected career. Terry eventually became the owner of his own company, Terry Sims Grading.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 58 years, Jean Thompson Sims; and brothers, John Darrell Sims and Edwin Dale Sims.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Sims Diaz, sisters-in-law, Doris Tanner Sims and Nancy McGinnis Sims; several beloved nieces and nephews; special great niece, Addison Emma Hall; and many beloved extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, December 10, from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home.
A funeral service honoring Terry’s life will be held beginning at 1:00 PM in Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Troy Hall officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Mozley Memorial Gardens.
