Teresa and Elijah Elrod's Obituary
Teresa Diane Allen Elrod, a beautiful spirit of a women and resident of Powder Springs, Ga, passed away to be with our Lord Jesus Christ unexpectedly on December 27, 2018 at the age of 39.
Teresa is survived by her parents; her husband, Richard Brian Elrod; her brother, Jonathan Lamar Allen; her sister, Melanie Allen Kunz. She is predeceased by her grandmother, Nona Allen; and grandfather, Frank Lamar Allen Sr.
Teresa was born in Georgia on June 25, 1979 to Frank Lamar Allen Jr. and Dorothy Shipwash Allen. She was a member of Mt Harmony Baptist Church for 39 years. She graduated from Georgia State University in 2008with a Bachelors in Fine Arts and worked as a Clinical Data Specialist for MiMedx Group, Inc. On September 11, 1999, she married Richard Brian Elrod, the love of her life and anchor. On September 14, 2006, she gave birth to a precious baby boy, Elijah Aidan Elrod, who was the most important part of her life. Elijah passed away with her to be joined together with her in heaven.
Teresa was a devoted mother and wife and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed hiking and camping with her husband Brian and son Elijah. She loved her cats: Mr. Kitty, Ginger, Isabel, Akeeme. She enjoyed being at the beach and hoped to move their one day. She was a spiritual women loved Jesus and always looked to the scriptures for encouragement and prayed about everything. She loved everyone she came close to and was an extremely giving spirit. She enjoyed spending time with her family playing Pokémon, although at times she would get frustrated about it, but she was still with her family and that is all that mattered to her. She also loved her coffee at least a few times throughout the day. She cared deeply about other people and their struggles. She had an infectious smile that would light up any room. Teresa will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. She will forever be in our hearts.
Elijah Aiden Elrod, a happy spirited boy and resident of Powder Springs, Ga, passed away to be with our Lord Jesus Christ unexpectedly on December 27, 2018 at the age of 12.
Elijah was born in Georgia on September 14, 2006 to Richard Brian Elrod and Teresa Diane Allen Elrod. He attending church at Mt Harmony Baptist Church for 12 years. He attending Kemp Elementary and Durham Middle School.
Elijah was an extremely happy boy, loved his mom and dad to the ends of the earth. He deeply cared about his Granny and Papa, Frank Lamar Allen Jr. and Dorothy Shipwash Allen, and always wanted to spend the night with them. Anytime the family went to dinner he always wanted to go home with Granny and Papa. He liked playing just about any video game on his Xbox, phone or iPad. He especially liked to play Fortnite online with his friends. He enjoyed hiking, camping, and going to the beach with his family. He recently went to Disney World with his mom and dad and absolutely loved the trip. He loved to play Pokémon with his mom and dad and Pokémon friends. His favorite Pokémon was Shiny Umbreon. He loved his cats: Mr. Kitty, Ginger, Isabel, Akeeme and his Dog Red. He enjoyed every day after school when his Papa would pick him up from school and get him some food from Zaxby’s or Chick-fil-a. He was very artistic, super smart and received first quarter honor roll at Durham Middle school and in all advanced studies. He was awarded the presidential award at Kemp Elementary School. He also had an infectious smile just like his mom that would light up any room. He was a loving boy and full of so much life. Elijah will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. He will forever be in our hearts.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Pastor Dr. Randal Whitten will officiate. Flowers and condolences may be offered at 561 Veteran’s Memorial Highway, Mableton, GA 30126.
