Born in Austell, Georgia, Sylvia was the cherished daughter of Geneva and Troy Pendley. She spent her early years in Austell, where she developed a passion for adventure and creativity.
Sylvia shared many joyful years with her late husband, Richard Tidwell. Together, they traveled and made countless memories visiting their favorite casinos. Sylvia also enjoyed crafting and antiquing, hobbies that reflected her eye for detail and love for beautiful, unique things.
More than anything, Sylvia treasured her role as a devoted mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend. Her love was steadfast and unconditional, and her warmth touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her beloved brothers, Bo Pendley (wife, Marsha) and Ricky Pendley (wife, Hope); sisters-in-law Cheryl Williams and Joan Smith; and brother-in-law Doug Smith. She leaves behind her loving children, Scott Smith (wife, Chris) of Douglasville and Christopher Smith (wife, Michele) of Marietta; as well as her stepchildren, Vicki Zabawa (husband, Jerry) of Lithia Springs and Ricky Tidwell of Austell. She was a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews.
