Suzanne Louise Donohoe's Obituary
Suzanne Louise Donohoe, age 53, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on March 17, 2025.
Suzanne was born in 1972, in Van Nuys, California, to Anna Louise Sprankle Hill and William David Hill. She grew up in Southern California and graduated from Chatsworth High School before attending California State University, Northridge, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management in 1994.
Suzanne built a successful career in marketing and spent several years as a Marketing Manager at The Home Depot, where she made a meaningful impact during the company’s early years of growth. Shortly after high school, she met Jimmie Donohoe, and the two relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where they lived for many years until their divorce.
Suzanne had a deep love for travel and especially enjoyed visiting New York City, Hawaii, and California. She was an exceptional photographer and watercolor painter whose artwork often focused on her favorite flowers, Hawaiian plumerias and Japanese cherry blossoms. Suzanne loved sushi and treasured her Japanese Lucky Cats, which she kept as symbols of good fortune.
Known for her kindness, intelligence, and thoughtfulness, Suzanne never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or holiday and was widely known for being a wonderful and generous gift-giver. She had a passion for charitable work and often spoke about her desire to dedicate more of her life to helping others. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she loved decorating her home with beautiful seasonal displays. Suzanne also loved hosting gatherings for family and friends and was famous among those who knew her for her delicious basil crepes.
Above all, Suzanne cherished the people in her life. She loved traveling with her friends, whom she cared for deeply, and later shared thirteen years in the Atlanta area with her devoted partner, Philip West. Suzanne also adored her beloved dogs, Wolfie and Mickey, who brought her constant joy and companionship.
Suzanne will be remembered as a beautiful, intelligent, creative, and compassionate woman whose warmth and generosity touched many lives.
She is survived by her father, William David Hill; her partner, Philip West; extended family members; and many dear friends who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Louise Sprankle Hill, and by her former husband, Jimmie Donohoe.
A private memorial service will be held by family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Suzanne’s memory may consider donating to a charitable organization or animal rescue in her name.
