Susan Jackson Richardson, age 66 of Powder Springs passed away Friday, March 6, 2015. She was a graduate of McEachern High School and retired from McEachern as attendance secretary. She was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and sister Read Obituary
Susan was a very special friend to the Tumey family. She and mom (Betty Tumey) were always laughing and cutting up. The stories mom told us about Susan were hysterical. But she was more than a funny person, she was an angel here on earth.
Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Susan, I have grown close to her family over the past few years. I could not imagine my life without the Fossett family and the love they show me. Madison is one of my closest friends and it hurts to see her so sad. I'm praying for God's peace and comfort. This family is so dear to my heart, and I hope that God can comfort them the way only He can. I'm so glad that there is hope of heaven and eternal life. What a day that will be! It'll be a pleasure to get to meet you and worship at the feet of Jesus.

First thing that sticks out when i think about my mom is her smile! She had the most beautiful warm smile, and her laugh was contagious!
She is the most giving person I've ever met. Mom always put others needs above her own. When i had a problem or something i couldnt figure out i went to my mom. She had the ability to make things so simple. Nothing on this earth was more important to my mom than her family. She was very involved in mine and Tracys life growing up. She was the mom that all our friends loved. She was so much fun...but at the sametime she was our mom first. She was the BEST Nana. As with Tracy and I, no matter how tired she was she played with the kids. She had special things she did with each of them but one of the funniest things to watch that she did with all of them was her jumping out and scaring the kids....well us all! She was so tiny she could fit behind or in anything. You never new when you come walking in the house where she was or what corner she may jump out of.
Mom would light up a room when she walked in it. People just stopped to see what she was going to say. It was usually something funny or witty. I have a lifetime of awesome memories with my mom. It would take a lifetime to write them all down. Right now all i can think of are the things im going to miss. Our talks, her laugh, seeing her sitting and reading her bible, watching her interact with the kids and enjoy them, Getting her advise...it could go on and on!!! She was the heart of our family!!! She brought everything together. Everywhere i look i see her!! She was a part of everything!!! The pain of losing her is unbarable!!! I dont know what were going to do. For whatever reason God took the light of our family! It will never be the same!!!!

She was always one of my favorite people at McEachern. She helped with the band while I was in it. She wasn't just a helper, she also became a great friend to me and to alot of other people. She was personal, she cared about our lives, she always listened and gave advice to help us during our crazy adolescent years. She always sought us out to check on us if she knew we were struggling with something. She loved her family more than anything and talked about you guys always all the time. She was a treasure and I know she will be missed so much by everyone. I am so sorry for your loss.
I would like to offer my condolences to the Richardson family and also share a comforting scriptural promise that GOD is a refuge and strength in times of distress.(Psalms 46:1)
I remember when it stormed really hard Nana and I sat outside with the outside lamp on, blankets, and of course our crazy eight cards. We loved that game. It was our favorite game to play. It was our time and I loved/love it. She is the best Nana ever. I love her so much and I would ABSOLUTELY do anything for her. She is the best Nana a grandchild could EVER ask for. I will miss those day. I always looked forward to doing that with her and so would she. I would always ask her to play crazy eights when it stormed and she smiled and said "Let's do it." It got to the point I didn't even have to ask her we would just look at each other and get the cards. She is so beautiful and so an amazing woman. I will forever and always miss her. I will forever and always treasure those days. I will forever and always love her. Those days were so fun. I LOVE YOU NANA AND I ALWAYS WILL!! YOU ARE THE BEST NANA EVER AND I CAN'T WAIT TILL I SEE YOU AGAIN. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
I remember when nana would come to me and maddie's cheer games and she would yell at the football players saying "come guys you got to play as good as the cheer leaders!" And when we did our crowd pump cheer she would join in and make the whole cheer fun! I will miss her doing that,but I know she will be yelling at the football players this season up in heaven. I love and miss you nana and I know I will see you again. Tell Elvis,andy, Barney and all the other celebrities and family members that I said hey! I love you sooo much! I worked with Susan at McEachern from 2000 - 2003. I always looked forward to going to her office and sitting and talking. She was so much fun and such an inspiration to all! Prayers to the family. I know she is going to be missed desperately! Charlene Elliott
