Stephanie Pyle's Obituary
Stephanie Shaw Pyle was granted her angel wings on June 11, 2011 following a brief illness. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends all whom Stephanie had touched in some special way throughout her short, yet very memorable life.
Stephanie was born on August 26, 1961 in Memphis, Tennessee to Joan Shaw. Although she spent her early childhood in Memphis, she and her mother relocated to St. Louis, Missouri where Stephanie graduated from Riverview High School. During her first marriage (Steve Macklin), Stephanie was blessed with two children, Steven and Ashlie. She loved being a mother, had a strong passion for learning, and never gave up on her college pursuits. In fact, she continued to work on her Bachelor’s degree in computer science until her death. In addition to her a commitment to family, Stephanie had numerous hobbies and interests including singing, dancing, photography reading, traveling, and playing cards with friends.
On February 14, 1996, Stephanie married the love of her life Joseph Pyle. During her marriage to Joe, she worked for a short time as a licensed Real Estate agent and later as a Walmart Associate. She was a committed and loving wife and homemaker for 13 years until Joe’s untimely death in 2009.
Stephanie was best known for her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh, and her generous and kind heart. And though her life on earth would seem much too short to many, the quality of her existence far exceeds the quantity of time that she was able to spend with those she loved and cherished. She could always be counted on to “lend a hand” to whomever needed one and she devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother.
Stephanie is survived by her mother, Joan Doss of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; her sister Erika Thomas (Eddie Neal) of St. Thomas; her son Steven Macklin and daughter Ashlie Macklin both of Atlanta, GA: aunts Marjorie Johnson (Duane) and Patricia Shaw both of Atlanta; her uncle George Shaw of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren Faith, Jayla and Xavier; beloved friend Michelle Wiley, and a host of cousins, family members, and friends.
