Shirley Jacquelyn Shirley's Obituary
Shirley Jacquelyn Shirley, age 83, of Acworth, passed away April 14, 2020. Over the years, Shirley was an avid church-goer and was a bright spot in many congregations. She and her husband, Bob, owned and operated Shirley’s Christian Bookstore in Mableton for over 20 years. Shirley loved to travel, loving to go anywhere from the mountains to beaches, as long as they could drive there! “Mama Shirley” was well-beloved in her community and loved community involvement. But more than anything, she loved her family and would do anything for them. She will be dearly missed.
Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert “Bob” Shirley, Sr.; brother, Chuck Jorman; sister-in-law, Martha Jorman; and brother-in-law, Richard Mewborn. She is survived by her children, Renae (Vince) Forrester of Kennesaw, Robert W. (Jan) Shirley, Jr. of Jonesboro, and Stephen Scott (Dee) Shirley of Acworth; sister, Grace Mewborn of Marietta; grandchildren, Brooke, Michelle, Chip, Chad, Cherish, Allie, and Stephen; 13 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services to be held.
Interment will occur at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. Flowers are kindly accepted.
