Shirley E. Norton's Obituary
Shirley E. Norton, age 83 of Canton, passed away November 8, 2022.
Shirley was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and was an animal lover. She especially adored her dog Peewee.
In 1956 she met her first husband, Frank J. Waits and travelled with him to Germany and Hawaii during his deployment in the United States Army.
Shirley also enjoyed volunteering with meals on wheels, where she would deliver food to residents in the Locus Grove community.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vander and Maudie Howell; first husband, Frank J. Waits; second husband, William Lamar Norton.
Shirley is survived by her siblings Dorothy E. Owens, Billy M. Howell, Mary Jo Treece, Penny Ramsey, and Betty Jean Vaughn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 3:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service from 1:00PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
