Shane Matthew Tidwell's Obituary
Shane Matthew Tidwell, age 35, of Powder Springs passed away January 1, 2021.
Shane was an active member of South Cobb Church of Christ, preached part-time at Hiram Church of Christ, and was the Treasurer of Camp Inagehi in Douglasville. In his professional career he served as an investigator with the GA Department of Revenue, a Sergeant with the Hiram Police Department, and as a Crime Analyst with the Sandy Springs Police Department. Most recently, Shane was a Director at KPMG, one of the world’s leading professional services firms, where he provided technology audit and assurance services and was actively involved in volunteerism. He and Cynthia were leaders in the Atlanta chapter of KPMG Family for Literacy, that raises funds to put books in the hands of children who need them most.
Shane was a graduate of McEachern High School and went on to obtain his Bachelor’s degree from the Florida Institute of Technology. He was an all-around family man who put his wife and children first and adored spending time with them. He also cherished the time he spent with his father, mother, and brothers. Shane was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandson, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Shane is preceded in death by his NaNa, Barbara Ballard. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia M. Tidwell; children, Asher, Aliya, and Aubree; parents, Thomas and LaRheasa Tidwell of Powder Springs; brothers, Chris Tidwell of Douglasville and Brandon Tidwell of Paulding Co; and a host of beloved extended family.
A memorial service for Shane will be held Saturday, January 9th, 11:00 AM at Macland Road Church of Christ with Matthew Johnson officiating.
