Scottie H Green's Obituary
Scottie H. Green was born in Williamson, West Virginia to Scott and Sarah E. (Key) Green on September 16, 1935. Scottie was the first of four children. His parents, brother Julian, and sister Barbara preceded him in death. The family moved to Buffalo, NY when Scottie was very young where he was reared and educated. His spiritual journey began at Friendship Baptist Church in Buffalo where he was baptized.
Scottie served his country in the Korean War and later became a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post 2233. He served that organization for many years.
Scottie met, wooed, and married his sweetheart, Clarine Maye in Buffalo, NY. They established their home in Detroit, MI where they reared their children, Keith John and Karen Janelle. Scottie's words for his family were "you represent me." His children represent him well. He adored his family and worked hard to provide for them.
Scottie had a wonderful work ethic. He began his career with Mary Jane Shoes as a teen and after many years, began his lengthy career with General Motors. He joined General Motors in 1965 was a faithful employee of General Motors until he retired in 2000.
Scottie was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Lodge #491 for more than 30 years. He was Worshipful Master of the lodge for over 25 years. Scottie is a 33rd degree mason which is the highest degree you can achieve in masonry and was a valuable asset to the National Supreme Council of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons.
In recent years, Scottie fought several prolonged illnesses. When the struggle became too difficult, he moved from this life to his eternal home on April 11, 2016.
Scottie leaves a legacy of loved ones to celebrate his life. This legacy includes his wife Clarine, his children Keith J. Green and Karen J. (Robert) Armstrong; his brother Larry J. Green (Beverly) of Buffalo, NY, and his grandchildren Cameron, Kristen, Chloe, Nicholas, and Nadia. Scottie is also survived by his extended family by birth and love and a host of friends.
