Sara Thruston Stipe's Obituary
Sara Thruston Stipe, age 88 of Mableton, passed away March 27, 2019. Sara retired from Georgia Power where she worked for 34 years. She was a former member of West End Baptist Church in Atlanta and current member of Mableton First Baptist Church. She was also a member of Georgia Power Company Ambassadors and the West End Golden Gems.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Fannie Thruston; brother, Alfred Thruston Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill Stipe; daughter, Julie (Steve) Echols of Canton; daughter, Diane (Bill) Stipe McClanahan of Canton; daughter, Janet (Tommy) Stipe Voyles of Douglasville; grandchildren, Joy, Jeremy, Christopher, Erin, Lindsay and Brian; great-grandchildren, Aria, Carter, Eli, Cole, Emma; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 3:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel in Austell with Dr. Steve Echols officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday from 1:30-3:00 PM at the funeral home.
