Sandra Lynn Chilton's Obituary
Sandra or Sandy, Meemaw, or Granny Sandy as some liked to call her, was a beautiful woman. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was her everything. She had five children, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nephews all of whom she loved deeply. She also dearly loved her adopted two children, Amanda and Eric; and others she took in.
She was born on June 8, 1961 to John and Barbra Griffin. She had a brother and sister as well. She attended South Cobb High, where she was a co-captain cheerleader, sang with the Conoliers, and graduated with honors in 1979. She also sang in the church choir with her family. She worked at Old Fashion Foods in the accounts receivable department. She loved pigs, country music, Star Trek, and of course, the Georgia Bulldogs. She also loved to fish, camp, dance, have a good time by the bonfire, and sing karaoke.
Sandy gained her heavenly wings Friday, December 15, 2023, at the age of 62.
She is preceded in death by her father John Griffin; as her siblings, Nanette and John Griffin, Jr.; and her son, Steve Chilton.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Louise; and her children, Alexis , Doug , Samantha, and Nikki.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2:00PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service from 1:00PM-2:00PM at the funeral home.
For anyone wishing to view the service virtually, a livestream link will be available at the above-listed service time on Sandra's Tribute Page at www.davisstruempf.com
