Samuel Richard Smith Sr.'s Obituary
Samuel “Smitty” Richard Smith, Sr., age 83 of Marietta passed away May 31, 2024.
Smitty retired after 28 years with Lockheed Martin as a manager. He was a member of Calvary Church of God in Douglasville.
Smitty was a race car driver in his early years and was a big fan of NASCAR.
He enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains in Cherokee North Carolina and Pigeon Forge Tennessee.
Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Smitty was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Brian Haynes.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tammie Jane Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel Richard Smith Jr. and Lorrie; son and daughter in-law, Daniel Joseph Smith and Danielle; son and daughter-in-law, Dylan Cole Smith and Lindsey; grandchildren, Victoria, Kasey, Tyler, Coleman, Micah, Andrew, Joseph, Quentin, Anson, and Harper; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Barrett, Bryar, Lily-Mae, December, and Anna.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 5th 2:00 PM at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Locke officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00AM-2:00PM.
